I have a ton of imaginative fantasy and horror books on my list of books. I also love graphic novels, generally pretty artsy, witty ones, like this one series by a French cartoonist about some typical man’s amusingly shabby and mediocre life. …I’m not sure if this gets me “extra credit” or “extra points” for this contest, but I’ve looked up and commented on all of the books you list above. You’ve definitely given me some ideas for further reading! I suspect reading James Baldwin is a little like the Japanese classic movies I love. When you finally watch them, they’re excellent and superb, but it’s hard working up to them because there’s so much more current, recent, frothily trashy Hollywood stuff!
