Below are pieces of 11 different book covers.  In the comments section below, leave the title and author of the book.  You will get 1 pt for the title and 1 pt for the author.  The person with the most points wins.  There 11 book covers and a total 22 points possible.

Prize

1 Copy of any book from Amazon up to $10.00 in value.

Rules

  1. Person with most points wins.
  2. Please add up your points for us as well.
  3. All answers must be here on the site below.
  4. If there is a tie, a random winner will be picked.
  5. Ends at midnight PST on 11/24/17.

2016 MGR Reading Challenge

MGR Reading buttonHappy 2016 ladies! While there are many reading challenges out there for you to choose from, we thought it might be fun to do a Mocha Girls Read inspired challenge. The challenge is simple because the are three to pick from.

  1.  You can pick SPELL IT OUT CHALLENGE.  The idea is to have fun reading books with titles that will spell out “MOCHA GIRLS 16” by the end of the year.  That is a total of 12 books.
  2. You can pick the BOOK OF THE MONTH CHALLENGE.  The easier one is to read all the books selected for the book of the month.  That will be a total of 12 books.
  3. There is one more for you to select the CHAPTER CHALLENGE.  You can read one book set in the cities or state Mocha Girls Read calls home.  Total of 4 books.

How it Works

You can do this challenge in many ways: 

SPELL IT OUT CHALLENGE: Choose books with TITLES that spell out “Mocha Girls” (1 title per letter of the alphabet). The title must begin with the letter you are completing.

M – My Grandfather Would have Shot Me by Jennifer Teege,
O – Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
C – Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan
H – The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty
A – All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
G – Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
I – Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
R –The Red Tent by Anita Diamant
L – Light by Michael Grant
S – Sugar by Bernice L. McFadden
1 – One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
6 –  Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
BOOK OF THE MONTH:  Read all books nominated and voted on by you the members each month.
CHAPTER CHALLENGE:  We have four chapters in three states (Los Angeles, CA.; Tempe, AZ.; New Lenox, IL. and San Diego, CA).  Read one book set in each city or state.

Levels:

To keep things fun, choose the level from the three options below you feel most comfortable attempting. However, once you pick a level, please stick to it throughout the challenge.

  1. Off like a rocket – completion of one challenge listed above.
  2. Out of this world – completion of two challenges listed above. (No overlapping books)
  3. Warp speed –  completion of all three challenges listed above.  (No overlapping books.  A whooping 28 books!)

2015 MGR Reading Challenge

Happy Holidays ladies! While there are many reading challenges out there for you to choose from, we thought it might be fun to do a Mocha Girls inspired challenge. The challenge is simple. The idea is to have fun reading books with titles that will spell out “MOCHA GIRLS 15” by the end of the year.

How it Works:

You can do this challenge in many ways: 

1) Choose books with TITLES that spell out “Mocha Girls” (1 title per letter of the alphabet). The title must begin with the letter you are completing.

2) Choose books whose authors LAST names spell out “Mocha Girls” (1 name per letter of the alphabet). The author’s last name must begin with the letter you are completing.

3) Combine BOTH of the above; however, you can only have one title or author’s name per letter of the alphabet.

4) Choose two books with TITLES that start with ONE and FIVE to complete “Mocha Girls 15” . The title must begin with the number you are completing.

C – The House Girl by Tara Conklin
H – The Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
