Why I Love Wednesdays…Book turned into a movie/tv show

Reflections of a Bookaholic

Mocha Girl Alexis from Reflections of a Bookaholic started a Wednesday Meme called Why I Love Wednesday.  What is a Meme you ask?  According to wikipedia…The term “Internet meme” refers to a catchphrase or concept that spreads rapidly from person to person via the Internet, largely through Internet-based email, blogs, forums, Imageboards, social networking sites and instant messaging.  Basically, a topic from the meme host (Alexis) is posted on participating blogs with blog authors (me) answering it on their site (here).

The topic this Wednesday is… Book turned into a movie/tv show

This one was easy for me.  Years and years ago I lived in Japan and was taking Japanese and study Kimonos.  I studied everything about them, from how to put them on to the various kinds of kimonos for the seasons.  During that time I read Memoirs of a Geisha.  And I loved it!!

I moved back to the US at the same time the movie came out.  Needless to say, I saw the movie the minute it came out.  They did a wonderful job adapting the book to the big screen.  The costumes, the locations and the cast did an excellent job.  The movie didn’t let me down at all like most films from novels do.  Most of the time I can’t stand the cast they select because they never match the person I had in mind but this cast knocked it out the park.
